4th Annual ep.gif (1548 bytes)U9/U10 Spring Kickoff, May 20, 2001

The Eden Prairie Soccer Club invites MYSA Boys and Girls U-9 and U-10 Red-White-Blue Division teams to compete in the Eden Prairie Spring Kickoff Tournament being held May 20, 2001. We are pleased to host this U-9 and U-10 tournament that offers players a competitive experience in a Tournament setting at the beginning of MYSA league play.  Teams will play two full-length games in about a 4-hour time block. This is a one-day Tournament and all games will be held in one location, the Flying Cloud Soccer Fields, so travel logistics will be minimal for teams.  This Tournament is sanctioned by MYSA for MYSA teams only.

The Tournament is large enough – 72 teams -- that we can structure our brackets and use single age divisions to insure competitive play at all divisions. Play will be in three brackets: Red, White, and Blue. We use a three-referee system with USSF certified referees.

Please join us for this day of competitive play, fun and awards. We recognize that this may be the first Tournament experience for many players, coaches, and parents, and we want to make it a positive and enjoyable experience. You’l note it is not Mother’s Day, the Fishing Opener, or Memorial Day Weekend. What a great day for Soccer!  What a great way to Kickoff the 2001 season!

Two Game Minimum and Scheduling

Each team will play two games. Teams will be scheduled in about a 4-hour time slot between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.. Teams will play 25 minutes halves; games ending in a tie will remain a tie and there will be no overtimes or shootouts. No standings will be kept and no scores will be posted. All players will receive a participation award. If the weather or the condition of the fields make it impossible to carry out the tournament to its full extent, the Tournament Director will make the necessary decisions concerning the rearrangement or cancellation of games for any reason. Game length and times may be shortened or altered until back on schedule, or games may be rescheduled or cancelled.

Registration Process

You may register by mail or fax. Payment of $125 per team must accompany registration for registration to be considered complete. Application deadline is May 1st, 2001. Teams will be selected in the order received if there is space available in the bracket. The minimum bracket for any age and division is 4 teams. The highest is 18 teams. Confirmations will be mailed as registrations are received.  Tournament schedules, brackets, field maps and general information will be mailed the week of May 1, and posted on www.epsoccerclub.com. Once your registration is received and confirmed, no refunds will be made unless a substitute team can take your place. Fees are non-refundable if games are cancelled for any reason.
