Game Schedule:
Plenty of positives in the team’s first season at the NPL level and it was steady progression from a team who was not competitive in the first round of games, to a team who could compete with any team in the division during the second round of games. Coach Chris Bagshaw will continue with the group assisted by Coach Megan King, and they will be pushing the group to finish near the top of the NPL Prem Group as well as winning/competing at Local and Regional events. On the field, the team will look to improve on scoring more goals and keeping the ball better, this will be achieved by focusing on improving every player technically and their game understanding/ability to make the field bigger. The team will be looking to add more depth and additional high-level players to a solid core group.
After a strong start in the Fall, the group had an up and down Winter & Spring. A mid-table NPL finish and some good showings at tournaments were positive for the groups. However, the group will need to increase their commitment, focus, and overall quality as it is a team that has the potential of competing with the very best 2009 Teams in MN. Winter Training is key and every player needs to improve their technical ability, so that the group can be better in possession during games. Coach Bradley will continue with the group and will be pushing the group to finish at or near the top of the NPL Prem Group. With a strong age group that has depth, there is lots of competition and players need to be pushing themselves to be their very best. The team will be looking to add additional high-level players to a solid core group, specifically players who can score goals and/or dominate midfield.
An improvement in their NPL league position from last season and some good results against top teams in the division. The consistency and overall level of play of the group will need to get better as teams around them improve. Putting an experienced coach in Kaisha Benson into the team will be a great addition for the group and she will implement a style of play, encourage the team to keep the ball more, and focus on the tactical side of the game where the team may have struggled this season. Coach Kaisha will also look to improve the mentality and focus of the group, especially as the team enters the “Pre-Showcase” years. Having a top team mentality and a desire to compete/win every game. This is a key year and the team certainly has the potential, and now needs to prove it. We will be looking to add more depth and additional high-level players to a solid core group.
Impressive season for the group as they have made big progressions and closed the gap considerably to the top of the NPL. Winning the MN Cup, Champions Cup, and finishing high up in the NPL are great achievements for the team. Now it will be about continuing to improve and pushing to a higher level where they are consistently beating the best teams. Coach John will continue with the group this season. Commitment and group dynamic is very good and we will be looking to add high-level players to this group who can elevate the team to the next level.
After an improved end to a difficult season, we have implemented changes that we believe will allow the group to be more competitive. Zoe Eth (Gustavus Women’s Assistant and EPSC 06G NPL) will be taking over the group and has proven success at developing female players at this age coupled with her college soccer experience as the players enter the showcase years. The NPL has split into 2 levels and the team will be placed at the Prem (2nd level) where they will be competitive. With changes implemented on our end, the players need to take responsibility and will have to not only improve their training habits and playing at a higher tempo, but also their mentality of playing for a top team in the NPL that will be traveling to National & Regional events to showcase. The team did not score enough goals, so this will be a big focus of Winter Training, and identifying current and potential new players who can score goals. Additional players, especially at key positions is important as well as depth throughout the squad.
Unfortunate to fall short at the end of the season in the league after battling it out for 1st place for so long. Gained some great experience and exposure at the Showcase events (Nationally, Regionally & Locally) and are well on the radar of schools around the area. Long-term injuries to players in the group made things a bit more difficult, so adding more high level players and building an even stronger roster is important as they enter a key Showcase year. Coach Zoe will continue with the group and between her passion, coaching ability, and care for the group, she possesses all the tools needed to assist players who are looking to play at the next level.
Much improved season for the group and they have been on a constant upward trajectory. Noticed big changes in the players commitment, discipline and top team mentality, as they were competitive with every team throughout a high-level NPL division. Late goals and blown leads were issues that the group faced and will look to improve on this next season after gaining more experience of being in those situations. A second year together will allow them to develop a better understanding of how each other and the team wants to play. Coach Ken will continue with the group and possess the experience/knowledge to push these players to the next level during a key showcase season. The team will continue as an 06/07 team (but be named 06B NPL). Adding more depth and strengthening an already solid group will allow them to be a top team in the NPL Premier and showcase well at National and Regional events.
Certainly an up and down season for the group. Next year will see the 2004 and 2005 Age Groups combine to make a 19U Team. Coach Jeremy, who coached the EPSC 03/04B NPL to a MN Cup title, will be taking over the group and has proven success with teams at this age. Jeremy also has in-depth experience for players looking to play at college, which will be invaluable as players are in a key showcase year. 2021/22 season was disappointing for the group and there were things as a club we could have done better as we believe the group underachieved. The team has a solid group, coupled with many players returning from the National Cup winning 03/04G NPL team, this is going to be a strong team playing in the Super level of NPL and will be on many college coaches’ radars as they showcase Nationally, Regionally, and Locally.
Team improved this season going from barely surviving at the bottom end of Prem I, to the top end of the division. There will be changes for next season with the 2005 Age Group combining with the 2004 Age Group and both teams coming together to create a team at the Super Group and Prem Group of NPL. MYSA will cease to exist as we know it with the majority of the teams moving to the NPL. The NPL will not only give players a year round, highly competitive league, but also great college exposure for those looking to play at the next level.
Coach Allan will continue with the group and has brought a new possession based style of play, which has showcased the talents of the group. We understand that there are difficulties such as communication with Allan having English as his second language. For this reason, we have added an assistant coach to the group in Henry Puchuela who is not only bilingual, but also has experience coaching at this age & level. Henry played collegiately and has a good understanding of the college recruiting process. This will be a great addition to the group and he will assist Allan with player communication, parent communication, and other pieces. Chris Bagshaw will serve as the teams college advisor and will assist and be the point of contact for players who are looking to play collegiately.
We will want to add more depth to this group and create a large, competitive roster who should be challenging for MN Cup and NPL honors.
Another fantastic season for the group culminating in a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! Amazing to see the amount of players from the team who will be playing at the next level as well as the recognition from college coaches about the group. Next season will be copy/paste with the exception of a few changes as Coach Jeremy will come into the group as well as the 2005 Age Group combining with the 2004s. Coach Jeremy, who coached the EPSC 03/04B NPL to a MN Cup title, will be taking over the group and has proven success with teams at this age. Coach Jeremy also has in-depth experience for players looking to play at college, which will be invaluable as players are in a key showcase year. Of course, there will be players who will not return to club soccer next season, but just like last year, we will be looking to add depth, talent, and again aim to be one of the top 19U Teams in MN.
Successful season for the group as they won MN Cup, finished comfortably in MYSA Prem I and showcased themselves well around the country. Next season will see the 2005 Age Group combine with the 2004 Age Group to create a team at the Super Group and Prem Group of NPL. MYSA will cease to exist as we know it with the majority of the teams moving to the NPL. The NPL will not only give players a year round, highly competitive league, but also great college exposure for those looking to play at the next level.
Coach Allan Segura will be taking the group and has come off a very good season with the EPSC 05B Prem I Team. There are challenges such as communication with Allan having English as his second language. For this reason, we have added an assistant coach to the group in Henry Puchuela who is not only bilingual, but also has experience coaching at this age & level. Henry played collegiately and has a good understanding of the college recruiting process. Chris Bagshaw will serve as the teams college advisor and will assist and be the point of contact for players who are looking to play collegiately.
